His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977), is the extraordinary person who dedicated his life to teaching the world about Krishna Consciousness, an ancient message of spiritual wisdom. He founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), and established more than 100 temples, inspiring devotees globally. The ISKCON organization was formed to spread the practice of bhakti yoga, where one dedicates their thoughts and actions towards pleasing Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Srila Prabhupada saw the accumulation of ISKCON real properties all over the world as an important measure of the success of his preaching, and also as a great tool for further expansion of preaching work. He therefore entrusted the care of these properties to his disciples with strict instructions that they should always be diligent and protect these important assets and keep them always dedicated to the original purpose – ISKCON’s missionary work on behalf of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
